Goal: to create a consistent and understandable policy on flexible & remote working for all Sensateers.
Sensateers are experienced professionals who are motivated to achieve a shared mission and objective. Our values include: "Win together" and "Mission, Team, Self" - these values are the bedrock of our flexible and remote working policy. If in doubt, refer to these values.
<aside> 🏆 Win Together - We are in this together. We believe in Mission, Team, Self. Our individual success is dependent on our team success. Our team success is dependent on our ability to accomplish our mission to build a better, more sustainable future.

Sensateers are free to choose where they work from.
Some Sensateers will choose to spend a significant portion of their time in the office, some a mixture of home and office and some will predominantly work remotely. As long as you meet your objectives and it's agreed with your Line Manager, you should feel empowered to make the right decisions for you, your team and Sensat.
In deciding to work a portion of your time remotely, it is important to ensure you have an appropriate environment to work in, that enables you to perform your duties to the high standards we all expect - working from Brighton beach might seem like a nice idea on paper, but you will likely be less effective than if you were working in a home office. When working remotely and in meetings - be present and professional. Turn your camera on!
Likewise, if your role requires you to be close to clients or certain locations, you'll need to consider where you decide to live. For example, if your role is to fly drones, living on the Orkney Islands might make that quite challenging!
We will hold regular team, departmental and company-wide "all-hands" in-person meetings. We expect all Sensateers to attend these meetings and do so at their own expense (including travel costs and expenses).
We do not currently have the capability to support individuals in permanently relocating outside of the UK as there are significant administrative, legal and tax challenges with employing people overseas.
"Do what you need to do"
We are all responsible for both our individual and team objectives. so long as you can meet your obligations, you have the flexibility to "do what you need to do."
